7th Annual Grand Rapids Marathon
/Downtown Grand Rapids
Sunday 7:00 AM early start, for velocity challenged Both Races, 8:00 Official start of Marathon
An adventure on the Grand River with a Full Marathon and Half Marathon. Start/Finish--Headquarters at the David D. Hunting YMCA, downtown Grand Rapids. Start/Finish line near the corner of Winter and Blumrich. We're adding a downtown loop, so where the one-mile mark was last year will be where the 5 mile mark is this year. We'll cross the historic Sixth Street Bridge for a beautiful view of downtown Grand Rapids along the river. The Half-Marathon will turn off Butterworth onto a great new paved trail and head back in. Alger Heights Halloween 5K

Saturday 9:00 AM 5K Race 10:00 AM Kids Fun Run
5k Run/Walk This USATF certified course is run through the beautiful rolling hills of the Alger Heights neighborhood (see website for NEW 2010 race course map). THE SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN THIS YEAR FOR REGISTRATION AND POST-RACE AWARDS and FESTIVITIES!! Also new this year, we will have a Kids Fun Run starting at 10:00 am. The Kids Fun Run is a one loop run around the Alger Middle School track. All registered participants will receive a race t-shirt and a finisher’s award. All runners, walkers, participants, and oglers are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes to celebrate the holiday. Costumes should be family friendly. Prizes will be awarded for creativity, originality, and cuteness.
